4/26/2026 MPO Training and Station Detail

Started the morning off with our MPO’s gaining experience on pumping with the new to us engine.
This also afforded us the opportunity to get some hose line and nozzle work for our cadets and newer department members.
Then, thanks to Dewey’s Towing and Recovery, we were able to get some hands on vehicle extraction practice.
Next, it was on to our monthly meeting and truck checks. All equipment is pulled out and checked for any problems and verified that it is safe and ready to use.
Finally, we took advantage of the beautiful weather to thoroughly wash our apparatus.
A full morning and early afternoon spent making sure that we are ready and prepared for when you need us.

As firefighters, training is essential to the safe execution of our duty. It is especially beneficial when that training can take take in a real-world environment. We would like to thank Jada and Aaron Miller for the use of their home for our recent training. Pictures by Sharon Wisen. Click image to see more photos.

Grain Bin Rescue Training

On 3/28/2026 some of our members, along with neighboring departments, attended Grain Bin Rescue Training at Evansville Fire Department. This training provided participants with the knowledge and equipment training to help rescue someone who may be trapped in in a grain silo. Photos courtesy of Evansville Fire District.
